In every episode of This Little Light, we try to be:
Faithful to the biblical text, and to the long tradition that has helped us make sense of it for generations.
Honest about the harder parts of the story or the things in our bible that don't quite make sense, even to grown-ups. Questions, wonder, and doubt are all part of how we experience faith, and we can be honest about that in developmentally-appropriate ways.
Inclusive of all kinds of wonderful people God has made, people of all races, genders, orientations, abilities, and ages. God's love is for you, and there is an important place in God's story for you, whoever you may be!
Fun! Learning the stories of our faith doesn't have to be boring, and engaging with bible stories can - and should! - be fun.
Pastor Katie is a United Methodist pastor in Maryland who loves talking about the Bible, church, and anything faith-related with kids (and with grown-ups, too). She believes the whole Bible is a story of God's love for the whole world and for everyone in it, and wants kids to learn and love the stories of our faith. When she's not busy being a pastor, Katie loves to cook good food, play board games, hang out with her two awesome preschoolers and their pretty cool dad, and go on long walks with her goofy dog named Monday.
